In using personal computer, facing some problems is inevitable. Sometimes the problems are quite simple but causing more serious problems, especially in wasting your time to fix it. There are some problems that generally occur in a computer set. They are viruses, malware, spyware or computer with slow progress. Here is a brief review about those problems.
Viruses
This is the most common among the common problems occur in a computer set. The virus could infect your computer in many ways, such as inserting removable disks such as flash disk or memory card, downloading any files from internet, or simply clicking a certain website that contains viruses. Usually, computer that is infected by viruses shows some signs, such as weird behavior of the operating system, non- responsive applications, and very slow performance. In coping with this problem, you should install anti-virus software. It is available in many choices you could install in your computer, including the free edition. However, the two most popular anti-virus software products are developed by Norton and McAfee.
Malware
Another problem that commonly infects your computer is malware that stands for malicious software. The most common examples for malware are Trojan horses and Worms. Malware problem infects your computer throughout attachment of your email or throughout P2P program use, such as Limewire. It has various effects for your computer. It might just infect some of your file, but it might also destroy the entire system in your computer hard disk. Getting rid of malware is often difficult to do, but there are always any solutions for this problem. When your computer is infected, just restore the system or wipe and reinstall your operating system. To reduce the risk of having another infection, try to install anti-malware program for example Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.
Spyware
There are some common signs of spyware you could find in a computer. The first is a noteworthy slowdown in your computer performance, and the second is the presence of certain program that you never installed before. There are a lot of causes of the infection. Even tracking cookies is also considered spyware if they are existing for instance in the registry in your computer.
Computer running slow
It is actually a simple problem. When your computer getting slower in its operation without any infection of viruses, spyware or malware, you just need to do some steps to fix your computer. They are:
o Doing disk clean-up. To do this process, you can click Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup
o Defragmenting the hard disk. The steps are Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter
If those things fail to fix the problem, you can do these following steps: Start > Run > Type 'msconfig.' Doing these clicks let you open the system configuration utility. Choose the General tab; give check in the box next to Selective Startup and choose the label Startup. These programs will start automatically when you are turning on your computer. To get some of your resources back, just uncheck some of them but do not uncheck any system applications of the Windows.
